The Indian side has constructed the construction of Gaddachauki-Brahmadev road linking the northern belt of Kanchanpur.
Indian Seema Surakshya Bal (SSB) has disrupted the blacktopping of the road nearby Nepal-India border pillar 809 (5 'A') on the issue of hum pipe.
The dispute ensued when the armed SSB put pressure on removing the hum pipe that was placed to give water outlet from the road. SSB claimed that the territory where the road is being constructed is in India.
Locals said the obstruction to the road construction caused by SSB has put the works on hold now.
Chief District Officer Kumar Bahadur Khadka said that they were aware of the halt of the construction works after the SSB obstruction. "The construction will continue after holding joint meeting with the Indian side".
Last year, a Nepali national was shot dead by Indian SSB in Punarbas municipality of Kanchanpur over a dispute on a culvert.
Three one-horned rhinos were swept across the Nepal-India border during the floods that took place 6 months ago. However, the Indian security personnel have refused to give the rhinos back to the Chitwan National Park. A spokesperson from the park, Gopal Ghimire, says that the rhinos were swept in the Narayani River.
