The first phase of the elections has concluded in 45 districts. The votes are being counted in a regulated manner. While some parts of the country were pretty hectic, the elections ended peacefully. Some parts of the country suffered from bomb attacks but there have been no reports of severe damage done by any of the explosions.
Due to these explosions, many political leaders have requested the general public to be fearless and calm and to freely exercise their voting rights.
However bad this request may seem at first, it is quite logical. The government has made sure to keep security tight in the polling areas.

The Supreme Court on Thursday ordered the government to put on hold the distribution of embossed number plates to vehicles. A request was filed by Bharat Basnet demanding that the plate must carry information in the Nepali language. A single bench of Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli issued the interim order as demanded by the petitioner.
