Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has stressed the need to develop Byas-Parasar as a religious and tourism hub.
Prime Minister Deuba said this today while inaugurating a Shreemudbhagawat Gyan Mahayagya organized by Parasar Ashram Protection Committee Tanahun at Byas municipality-5, Benipatan.
Pledging necessary government support for the development of Byas and Parasar region, PM Deuba underlined the need of high-level cooperation, coordination and activism from all concerned sides for tourism development in Bhanungkot, Tanahunsur and Chundriramgha.
Acknowledging Tanahun's role for the democratic movement, he said such religious events would help boost economic, social and cultural development of the country.
The Prime Minister underscored the importance of proper protection of Sanskrit Gurukul while informing that the government has allocated Rs 100 billion for the construction of necessary structures at Byas-3, Bhateri area.
Byas municipality Mayor Baikuntha Neupane, Mahayagya Coordinator Tara Prasad Shrestha and general-secretary Satya Prasad Khanal called for cooperation from all sides to the religious event.
The Mahayagya to be concluded on February 22 is expected to raise Rs 20 million.
The Supreme Court on Thursday ordered the government to put on hold the distribution of embossed number plates to vehicles. A request was filed by Bharat Basnet demanding that the plate must carry information in the Nepali language. A single bench of Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli issued the interim order as demanded by the petitioner.
