Lamps lit at Maitighar to remember 'people's war'

 All Nepal National Independent Students Union, close to CPN (Maoist Centre) lit candles at Maitighar on Tuesday evening on the occasion of 23rd anniversary of the People's War. 
ANNISU Vice-Chairman Surendra Basnet said that lamps were lit in memory those who lost their lives in the revolution. 
On the occasion, CPN (MC) leader Ram Bahadur Thapa said that the revolution is significant to Nepal's present political and social changes. 
Saying although some issues raised during the armed conflict are addressed, support of all was necessary to get some remaining issues addressed, he expressed commitment to move ahead towards the path shown by the martyrs. 
CPN (MC) leaders and cadres were present on the occasion.

Supreme Court orders Government to halt embossed number plates distribution

The Supreme Court on Thursday ordered the government to put on hold the distribution of embossed number plates to vehicles. A request was filed by Bharat Basnet demanding that the plate must carry information in the Nepali language. A single bench of Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli issued the interim order as demanded by the petitioner.
