Akhanda Party Nepal unites with Nepali Congress

The Akhanda Party Nepal has been united with the Nepali Congress. 
NC President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba formally welcomed Akhanda party chair former minister Kumar Khadka and other leaders amidst a programme organised in the capital city to announce the unification between the two parties Sunday evening. 
On the occasion, party President Deuba insisted on the unity among the democratic forces at home to safeguard the democratic norms and values. He warned that totalitarian force may usurp the achievements made so far and govern the country if democratic forces remained divided. 
Talking to the National News Agency (RSS) after the unification, leader Khadka said the objective of the unification was to keep the democracy consolidated. According to him, a mass integration assembly will be held in Pokhara in near future. 
NC senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel, leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula and other senior leaders were there to welcome the Akhanda party leaders to the party. 
Kumar who was elected to the Second Constituent Assembly through the proportional representation seat was the Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare. 
He said an agreement with the NC president had reached on giving a respectful position to the party leaders in the Congress.
