Poultry product sales are yet again being affected due to a case of bird flu. Poultry products were once widely avoided due to widespread bird flu.
Thankfully, there's an easy solution to prevention of bird flu. Sher Bahadur Pun, the coordinator of clinical research team at the Teku-based Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital has reassured the public that bird flu virus doesn't spread if the product is cooked well before consumption.
Poultry products can be consumed without any fear after cooking them at a temperate of up to 70 degrees Celsius.
Sher Bahadur Pun says that while consuming chicken is no big deal, the other people involved in the poultry farming process need to be careful.
If you work in farming, transporting, or butchering, you'd need to be very careful about bird flu. While the chances are low, prevention is always better than the cure.Tags - Bird Flu , Society , Health
