Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Dr Shiva Maya Tumbahamphe and Vice-Chairperson of the National Assembly Shashikala Dahal have expressed their best wishes to all the Nepalis living at home and abroad on the occasion of the great festival of Nepali women, Haritalika Teej.
In separate messages of best wishes here today, Deputy Speaker Dr Tumbahamphe and Vice- chairperson Dahal have also wished all Nepali women for their happiness, peace, prosperity and good health on the occasion.
Dr Tumbahamphe has argued that the Teej festival that has been celebrated since the Vedic era has further consolidated the cultural and social unity among the Nepali.
"The real identity of the Nepali lies in the fact that we have unity in diversity, social harmony, communal harmony and religious tolerance," reads the message.
It further states that despite the fact that such unique festivities and festivals were identity of the Nepalis, they have been revised time-to-time to keep up with the changing times.
Similarly, Vice-President Dahal, issuing a separate statement, has extended her best wishes on the occasion of Teej as well as Jitiya Parba observed in the Terai areas. She has also wished all Nepali women happiness, peace, prosperity and good health on the occasion.
Province-7 Chief Minister's best wishes
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of Province 7, Trilochan Bhatta, has wished happiness, peace, prosperity, good health and continued progress to all the people of the province, especially women, on the occasion.
In a message of best wishes he issued in Dhangadhi, the province capital, today, the Chief Minister also wished that may the Haritalika Teej bring enthusiasm, motivation and encouragement to all the women folk, strengthen mutual unity and goodwill and become the right practice for fully securing their rights.
Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara has said that an intense discussion was held on the bills relating to the fundamental rights.
