Government employees imparted training on RTI

Information Commissioner Kiran Kumar Pokharel has said the effective implementation of the Right to Information (RTI) would make office activities further transparent and employees should be more responsible towards that end. 

The effective enforcement of the RTI Act would cause positive impact on the public, Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Udyaypur president Bharat Khadka said quoting the information commissioner. He was putting his views during a training on RTI organised for chiefs of around three dozen governments offices in the district here today. 

Similarly, another commissioner Yeshoda Timsina spoke of the importance of RTI, its meaning and use for the public. 

District Administration Office, Udaypur’s administrative officer Kumar Khadka, employees of district-based government offices and media persons attended the training. 

The constitution has guaranteed the citizen’s right to information in its Article 27. (RSS)

No impact of shutdown in Kathmandu valley: Police

The shutdown called by Biplav-led Communist Party of Nepal has no impact in the Kathmandu valley. Spokesperson at the Metropolitan Police Office Ranipokhari, Shyam Lal Gyawali, said vehicular movement in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts is normal. The Metropolitan Police Office Ranipokhari looks after the security, and law and order in the Kathmandu valley.
