The Dhunche-Syaphru section of Pasang Lhyamu Highway that is obstructed due to landslides has not been cleared due to lack of well-equipped instruments.
According to Chief District Officer Krishna Poudel, the bigger stones and obstructions on the road could not be cleared as the equipment provided by the Division Roads Office was not powerful enough to that end.
Preparations a Dhunche-Syaphru sectionre ongoing to bring the powerful equipments from southern Rasuwa by coordinating with the Division Roads Office. CDO Poudel shared that the powerful equipments sought to clear the landslide are expected to reach the Khopang cliff by 10:00 am on Wednesday.
The landslides have covered in nearly 100 metres area of the road, thereby making difficulties for the estimation of time to clear the obstructions, the technicians said.
Meanwhile, Chief of Rasuwa Customs Office, Timure, Gopal Koirala said that 500 plus containers are in ready position to leave for Kathmandu from Timure. Likewise, hundreds of containers heading to Rasuwagadhi to take goods from Kerung have been stranded at Kalikasthan near Dhunche, the Traffic Police said.
Two Indian climbers have been found dead while in descent from Mt. Everest and Mt. Malaku last night. The dead have been identified as Narayan Singh and Ravi Thakar. Narayan was a member of the Indian Army who was in a Mt. Malaku expedition. He died at a height of 8,200 meters while in descent from Mt. Malaku.
