The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has urged the agitating teachers under relief quota to postpone the protest programmes and help create atmosphere favourable for running the teaching learning activities smoothly.
Ministry Spokesperson Baikuntha Aryal said the Ministry was positive to the demands of the teachers, so they could postpone the protest.
After the teachers under relief quota at community schools decided to close the school for three days from Tuesday, the Ministry issued a press release and made such request.
He further said the agreement was made among the representatives from the Ministry, Teachers' Federation and Relief Teachers Struggle Committee to address the demands of the relief teachers in the federal education bill in near future.
The relief teachers have been demanding their permanence creating quota for them as other permanent teachers. There are some 38,000 relief teachers working in the community schools for 17 years.
