NA passes ‘Payment and Clearance Bill’

A meeting of the National Assembly today unanimously endorsed the ‘Payment and Clearance Bill, 2075 BS’ along with the message from the House of Representatives. 
Prior to this, Finance Minister Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada presented the proposal, seeking the endorsement of the bill along with the message from the Lower House. 
Similarly, the Upper House session accepted the proposal presented by Minister for Forest and Environment, Shakti Bahadur Basnet, seeking the consideration over the bill to amend (first) the International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora Control Act. The document was passed unanimously. 
The NA is to meet next on February 14. (RSS)

No impact of shutdown in Kathmandu valley: Police

The shutdown called by Biplav-led Communist Party of Nepal has no impact in the Kathmandu valley. Spokesperson at the Metropolitan Police Office Ranipokhari, Shyam Lal Gyawali, said vehicular movement in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts is normal. The Metropolitan Police Office Ranipokhari looks after the security, and law and order in the Kathmandu valley.
