Province 1 has formed a 501-member main committee under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sherdhan Rai to celebrate the 69th Democracy Day for three days from today.
Various programmes as illumination at government offices, industrial centres, and educational and private institutions, morning rally, sanitation, and distribution of fruits at child rehabilitation centre and Koshi Hospital, among others would be organized as part of the celebration.
The committee has urged the province chapter of the Federation of Nepali Journalists to hold dialogues and discussion on democracy.
Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Hikmat Kumar Karki said the Democracy Day would be celebrated with optimum mobilization of the resources. (RSS)
The government led by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has recently completed first year of its five-year term. In his address to the nation on last February 14, Prime Minister said the government took the period as a year to develop foundation for structural management of the state and prosperity of the country.
