Both the semifinal matches under the SAFF Championship are taking place today in Bangladesh.
Nepal is playing against Maldives in the first semifinal match while India meets Pakistan in the next semifinal this afternoon.
Both matches are taking place at the Bangabandhu Stadium in Dhaka, All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) stated. Nepal is the Group 'A' winner while Maldives is the Group 'B' first runner-up team. India, the winner of the Group 'B', is playing against Pakistan, which is the first runner-up team of Group 'A'.
Nepal, which trounced Bhutan 4-0 and hosts Bangladesh 2-0 in the Group round matches, is looking for an opportunity to create history by defeating Maldives. Acting chief coach of the Nepali football team, Bal Gopal Maharjan, expressed confidence that the Nepal would get to the final and lift championship trophy as the national team is in good form.
Two games are taking place today under the ‘A’ Division league football tournament.Himalayan Sherpa Club will be meeting the APF Club in the first match while Brigade Boys will play against Signature Manang Marsyangdi Club in the second match to be held at ANFA Complex, Satdobato.
