Earthquake tremors were felt in some districts in the eastern part of the country at 10.35 am today.
The tremors of the earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale with its epicentre in Assam area of north-east India were felt in Nepal also, said Lok Bijaya Adhikari, Chief of the National Seismological Centre of the Department of Mines and Geology.
So far no reports of damage and casualty have been received as it was a minor tremor, the Centre stated.
Two Indian climbers have been found dead while in descent from Mt. Everest and Mt. Malaku last night. The dead have been identified as Narayan Singh and Ravi Thakar. Narayan was a member of the Indian Army who was in a Mt. Malaku expedition. He died at a height of 8,200 meters while in descent from Mt. Malaku.
