Attorney General, Agni Prasad Kharel, has said that the media should be sensitive while disseminating news related to heinous crime. Inaugurating the programme, 'Journalist Code of Conduct and Language Training', organised by Lalitpur chapter of Federation of Nepali Journalists here today, Kharel said that media should not disseminate news hampering the investigation.

Sri Lanka suicide bombing attack: Report

Seven suicide bombers took part in the devastating attacks on churches and luxury hotels in Sri Lanka that killed 290 people and wounded more than 500, a senior investigator said on Monday. Two of the suicide bombers blew themselves up at the luxury Shangri-La Hotel on Colombo’s seafront, said Ariyananda Welianga, a senior official at the government’s forensic division.

Sarlahi resident found dead in Malangwa

In Sarlahi last night, a person was shot dead by a group of people. The group has not been caught and are unidentified at the time. This unfortunate event took place in the Malangwa district headquarter.  The person who died was 31 years old Manoj Yadav. Mr. Yadav was a resident in the Malangwa area.

Israeli family's son dies in Australia

The family of an Israeli student who was killed in Australia made final preparations her funeral on Wednesday as her body arrived back in her home town. Mourners gathered along the sandstone walls of Aiia Maasarwe’s old school in Baqa Al-Gharbiyye near Haifa in northern Israel. Relatives and neighbors filed into her family’s home to offer condolences.

Nepali arrested in Delhi for human trafficking

A Nepalese citizen was arrested in New Delhi yesterday. The apprehended was arrested for his involvement in trafficking Nepali girls from Nepal to other countries. Indian media made reports on the case after the Nepali national was caught.   The Nepali national has been identified as Lopsang Lama. Lama is a 33-year-old male and was caught with 1 lakh INR.

One arrested for collecting 15m alluring youth of good foreign

The Metropolitan Crime Division of Nepal Police has arrested a person for allegedly amassing huge amount of money by promising around 20 youth to send in the lucrative destinations. Proprietor of Putalisadak-based Gates Consultancy Ganesh Dhakal, 34, of Palpa district was arrested on Wednesday for collecting Rs 15 million in cash from those youth, police confirmed.

Rape cases in Nepal: Rising numbers in 2019 expected

Rape cases are continuously on the rise despite many attempts from the Nepal Police and Nepal government to shut it down. Conivction rate in rape cases is also on the low, which doesn't help the cause at all. In 2016-17, over 1,000 rape cases were filed. However, only about 40% of them were solved.

13-Year-Old in Morang Raped: Culprits Caught

A 13-year-old girl in Morang was gang-raped a few days ago. The victim is from the Pathari Shanischare Municipality.  The girl was gang-raped when she went out with her friend to celebrate her birthday. The girl works as a domestic helper at another house.  The victim was found on Wednesday, after leaving her home on Tuesday for her birthday.

Doctors Falsify Reports in Rape Case

Two doctors have recently been suspended. The Nepal Medical Council decided upon suspension after finding out that the doctors falsified a medical report in a rape case. The 12-year-old victim in the case had her report shown as false. Not believing this, the girl went to the Siraha District Hospital to recheck, and her tests showed that she was raped.
